Ministry of Economy, Forestry and Water Management of Zenica-Doboj County has delivered an urgent request to the Kakanj Municipal Council asking for their consent to implement the process of awarding concession for building a small hydropower plant “Trstionica” with 600 kW power, on the river Trstionica.
Aarhus Center Sarajevo has, in collaboration with the Center for Environment reacted immediately on this issue and delivered a letter of warning to the Municipality Council stating that they cannot give their consent in light of the newly adopted Resolution of the House of Representatives of FBiH Parliament.
Nakon rasprave Vijeće je usvojilo Odluku o odbijanju prethodne saglasnosti za dodjelu koncesije za izgradnju MHE “Trstionica” . Također, Vijeće je usvojilo i zaključke kojim se u kantonalnu Komisiju ispred Općine imenuje Mirza Fazlić te da se zaključkom posebno navedu svi razlozi odbijanja saglasnosti, uključujući tu i one koje su vijećnici naveli tokom rasprave. I Odluka i zaključci su usvojeni jednoglasno.

After the discussion, the Council adopted the decision to reject the previously given consent for building the small hydropower plant “Trstionica”. Also, the Council adopted the conclusions naming Mirza Fazlic to the county committee on behalf of the Municipality, and requesting that the conclusion states all the reasons for denying consent, including those the council members indicated during the discussion. The Decision and the conclusion were adopted unanimously.
